BELLEVUE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Customers looked through the aisles of the newest Habitat for Humanity ReStore Tuesday.
Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity officially opened its doors at its new location at 1967 Allouez Ave. in Bellevue.
The new 24,000 square-foot store nearly doubled in size from its previous location on Ramada Way in Ashwaubenon.
In June, Habitat for Humanity announced its big move, citing the need for more space.
ReStore Director, Maureen Meinhardt, tells FOX 11 the move was needed.
“We were bursting at the seams at our old store. We knew that we could offer more to the community, more dollars to the Habitat for Humanity Homeownership Program if we could increase our sales and found that our limiting factor was the size of the store, so we knew we needed a bigger store. So as we’re looking for more space, we also wanted a more visible space and we wanted it to be easier for people to donate as well, so for donors, volunteers and shoppers, we needed a different location.”
The ReStore sells donated home goods, furniture, and building supplies at lower costs. The Bellevue location also has a partnership with Electrolux and Frigidaire where shoppers can find good deals on lightly scratched or dented new appliances.

Construction will still continue on the property. Habitat for Humanity says work on the outside of the ReStore will continue as well as the move of its affiliate offices.
