MARINETTE COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – A former Coleman volleyball coach will spend the next nine years and nine months in prison for having a sexual relationship with a teenage girl.
42-year old Jason Nieminski will also spend 10 years on extended supervision after pleading no contest to five counts, including sexual intercourse with a child, possession of child pornography, and causing a teen to view sexual activity. Seventeen other counts were dismissed.
According to the criminal complaint, the girl and Nieminski exchanged sexually-explicit texts and photos, as well as engaging in intercourse on multiple occasions, the girl said. The interactions started when the girl was 15 years old. He also provided birth control, according to the complaint.
The complaint does not include any comments from Nieminski. However, Nieminski’s wife said he confessed to exchanging inappropriate messages with the girl, according to the complaint.
The Coleman School Board accepted Nieminski’s resignation at a meeting on February 27, 2018.
