WAUPACA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A 16-year-old Marion boy has been charged in adult court with attempted homicide for allegedly trying to kill his pregnant 17-year old girlfriend.
Kevin Herzog faces five counts, including attempted homicide of an unborn child for the Tuesday incident. He made an initial court Thursday, where a $100,000 cash bond was set. He returns to court Jan. 21 for the balance of his initial appearance, court records show.
In Wisconsin, children ages 10 and up charged with certain homicide cases are handled in adult court.
According to the criminal complaint, police were called to a Marion home Tuesday afternoon. The girl said she and Herzog got into a fight, he choked her and punched her in the belly. Police observed marks on her neck.
Herzog admitted the two argued, but denied striking her.
Herzog faces additional charges in juvenile court for a similar incident last year, the complaint states.
