DENMARK, WI (WTAQ) — An accident that closed I-43 near State Highway 96 on Monday afternoon had led to charges against an Appleton woman.
Brenda Tenpas was seriously hurt in the crash when her car hit the side of a semi-truck, causing it to jackknife around 12:54 pm.
She was trapped in her vehicle before being rescued by emergency crews.
Tenpas is being charged with OWI 5th offense. Officials say she was “significantly impaired” when the accident happened.
Brown County Sheriff’s Officials say she’s lucky the accident wasn’t worse.
