GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — If you don’t have either the luck or the pocket change to fly out to San Francisco to cheer on the Green Bay Packers in their NFC Championship outing against the 49ers, there’s still going to be plenty to do here.
Downtown Green Bay is holding another Community Pep Rally this Friday at the Packers Heritage Trail Plaza. Kathryn Kroll is the Marketing Manager for Downtown Green Bay, Inc, and she helped put on last week’s event.
“We think maybe the pep rally added a little luck,” Kroll told WTAQ. “So we definitely have to bring it back this Friday.”
Kroll says they’ll hold another rally if the Packers can stamp their ticket to the Super Bowl this Sunday.
“We’re excited to feature Green Bay Preble High School’s pep band in addition to their drumline,” explained Kroll. “We’re also going to have Frank from Let Me Be Frank Productions again, and you’ll hear some of your favorities from our stadium playlist.”
The Packers themselves are holding a number of events this week as well.
“All week we’ve got ‘Letters to Lambeau’… we’ll post some of those on our social media,” Kandi Goltz, Packers Manager of Game Presenation and Live Events, said Tuesday. “And there are some opportunities to win stuff if you watch the Packers social media accounts all week.”
The Packers are encouraging fans to wear Green and Gold on Friday across the state of Wisconsin.
If you ARE lucky enough to head to San Francisco for the game (or are a bay area Packers fan), there is going to be a Packers event there, too. A team sponsored Pep Rally will be held at The Patio restaurant in Palo Alto, California starting at 11:00 am. Packers President Mark Murphy and a number of team alums will be attending.
