ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) – Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport saw its most passengers in eight years in 2019.
Airport leaders say nearly 10% more people got on planes last year compared to 2018.
In a new release airport director, Marty Piette is crediting expanded airline service for the increase in traffic.
“We have four outstanding airlines serving the airport and our local community. American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines have been very responsive to local demand for more service. The addition of Frontier Airlines with seasonal service to Denver and Orlando has also played an important role in growing our numbers.”
The 2018 numbers follow a 12.2% increase from 2017 to 2018, the largest in 30 years.
