GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – While their hometown teams may be opponents in the upcoming NFC Championship game, Green Bay Metro Fire Department and San Francisco Fire Department are teaming up in the name of fire safety.
But that doesn’t mean they won’t have a little friendly wager on the line.
Both fire departments have agreed that during Sunday’s halftime between the Packers and the 49ers, they will release a statement on their social media accounts to shed some light on fire safety.
On the Tuesday following the game, the losing team’s department must do the following:
- The fire chief will install a smoke alarm with the winning team’s emblem on it
- The fire chief will personally donate $100 to a Burn Camp/Prevention charity of the winning fire chief’s choice
- The fire chief will have to wear the winning team’s jersey for the day
The winning team’s department will also receive a donation of 50 smoke alarms from Kidde.
The Packers take on the 49ers Sunday at 5:40 p.m. at Levi’s Stadium.
