GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Wisconsin Democratic US Senator Tammy Baldwin says she’ll be an impartial juror in the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump.
“We will all take an additional oath to do impartial justice,” Baldwin said. “And I take that responsibility very seriously.”
Baldwin, who has spoken in favor of impeachment, would like to see witnesses called during the trial.
“I am very hopeful that we will have a full, fair, and honest trial that includes witnesses that have first hand knowledge,” Baldwin told WTAQ’s ‘The Morning News with Matt and Earl’.
Former White House National Security Advisor John Bolton is one name Baldwin mentions as a possible witness. Whether or not to allow witnesses is expected to be a point of contention during the opening phases of the trial.
