OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – An Ohio congressman wants an investigation to the U.S. Postal Service awarding of a contract to Oshkosh Corp., calling it “tainted.”
Last week, the USPS announced it selected Oshkosh Corp. to build the next generation of delivery vehicles. Oshkosh Corp. could build as many as 165,000 vehicles in a 10-year period.
Ohio Rep. Tim Ryan’s district includes Lordstown Motors, which makes electric vehicles. Workhorse Group, which didn’t win the contract, holds a stake in Lordstown. Ryan’s upset the contract doesn’t call for more electric vehicles.
Additionally, Ryan told the American Journal of Transportation that a large purchase of Oshkosh Corp. stock the day before the contract was awarded is suspicious.
Bloomberg News reported Workhorse may challenge the contract being awarded to Oshkosh Corp.
