CHILTON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A man who made child pornography by recording himself sexually assaulting a child was convicted of 13 charges Monday.
Sentencing for the 45-year-old man is scheduled for May 24, including for first-degree sexual assault of a child, and child sexual exploitation, court records show. Another 16 counts were dismissed.
Because the allegations include elements of incest, FOX 11 is not naming the suspect, in order to protect the identity of the victim.
According to the criminal complaint, the National Center for Missing and Endangered Children relayed a tip to Appleton police about child pornography activity online.
Police searched his devices, and the suspect admitted that he “went down the rabbit hole” and looked at child pornography. He also admitted to taking photos of his stepdaughter, when she was about 4 years old.
