APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An apparent vehicle backfire led to a police call on Appleton’s north side Friday morning.
Police said they were called to the area of Wisconsin Avenue and Durkee Street for a possible weapons call.
A FOX 11 crew on the scene saw officers also investigating in the area of Wisconsin and Morrison Street.
Around 11:30 a.m., police reported that they had cleared the scene. No evidence of shots fired was found. Witnesses reported a vehicle backfiring, the police department said on social media.
