GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Green Bay Police and Green Bay Metro Fire say they responded to an incident where a man had fallen through the ice on the East river near the intersection of Main St. and N. Roosevelt St early Saturday.
Green Bay police say when they arrived, they discovered a hole in the ice with footprints leading up to the hole, but none leading away from the hole.
Green Bay Metro Fire searched the area and broke up some of the surrounding ice in a rescue effort with no success.
Department officials say that they have not found anyone under the ice, and think he may have traveled downstream.
