DE PERE, WI (WTAQ) – Valentine’s Day is coming up this weekend, and stores stocking your typically gifted goods are ready to help you surprise that special someone.
If you’re not sure what to get your significant other for Valentine’s Day, chocolate is usually a good option. Seroogy’s Chocolate is open and ready to help.
“We’re very busy. We’re open every day. And we’re ready to see you!” said spokeperson Marjorie Hitchcock. “We’ve been open the whole time. We have quite a bit of space, and quite a bit of space in our parking lot. We’ve been very, very careful all year with masking and sanitizer.”
Hitchcock says they’ve been excited to see people coming into their stores on a regular basis, along with a wide array of online orders this year.
“We’ve been busy since Christmas with people shopping in. And especially people that are sending something,” Hitchcock told WTAQ News. “We’ve been pretty busy, and maybe a little busier online. People might not be getting together quite as much or they’re distanced or not traveling.”
Despite the pandemic and other precautions, Hitchcock is optimistic that Valentine’s Day-related sales won’t take much of a hit, if any at all. And so far, that has been true for Seroogy’s.
“Pretty much what we expected, and sales are pretty comparable to the past,” Hitchcock said. “Valentine’s has always been and still is more of a last-minute holiday…We’ve been busy and we’re expecting to be as busy as ever through the weekend.”
WTAQ toured Seroogy’s as they celebrated 120 years of holiday chocolate in December 2019. You can check out that video here:
