GREEN LAKE COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Six men arrested in a sexual assault case have been ordered to stand trial.
Deputies say on Nov. 28, they found a juvenile runaway on the side of the road. The girl told authorities she escaped from a residence where she was being sex trafficked. Her age was not released.
Six men, all believed to be undocumented immigrants from Guatemala, were arrested. Five face third-degree sexual assault charges, while one faces a second-degree sexual assault count.
All six waived their preliminary hearings Thursday. Four men also pleaded not guilty at the hearing, court records show. They are: Ember Rivera, Esler Rivera, Rolando Corado Gonzalez, and Avelino Sarceno-Sarceno. No trial dates were set.
Two men – Noe Bautista-Martinez and Evis Garcia-Rivera – return to court March 24 for arraignments.
The judge also ordered all six men to be tested for HIV/STD, court records show.
Investigators said the search produced a number of evidence items believed to be connected to the alleged sexual assault of the juvenile.
