GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ) – Grand Chute police officers arrested a man Saturday night after hitting another man with his vehicle.
Around 9:15 p.m., officers responded to Woodman’s Food Market, for a report of a man who had been hit by a vehicle, as he had been standing in front of the store.
The man was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and was treated.
Officers believe that this was an ‘intentional’ act of violence, and there was no known relationship between the victim and the suspect.
Officers later recovered the suspect’s vehicle, and arrested the man who drove it after a brief confrontation.
Officers say that the man tried to disarm one of the officers. The suspect was unsuccessful, and officers were able to arrest him without injury.
The man is now in the Outagamie County Jail, and authorities are recommending several charges, including first-degree recklessly endangering safety, hit-and-run causing injury, trying to disarm an officer, disorderly conduct, and resisting an officer.
