GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Are you sick and tired of feeling sick and tired? The Greater Green Bay YMCA is inviting the community to take part in a six-week challenge to help people recharge and refocus as many have been worn down by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Time for us to take back our life and not wait for things to get better, with COVID to be over,” said Greater Green Bay YMCA Vice President of Marketing Sherri Valitchka. “And things to get better in our political environment. There’s a lot of tensions out there right now, and taking care of ourselves is the most important, primary goal.”
The Strong Life Reset Challenge is available for free, for anyone. And it’s more than just a fitness-focused challenge. It aims to help with overall health – everything from spirit and mind to the physical body.
“You do not have to come into the Y to do your workout. You can do this outside or at home. Or you can work out at the Y, you do not need to be a member of the YMCA,” Valitchka told WTAQ News. “People of all levels of fitness can join the challenge, because [it’s for] everybody as a whole person – in spirit, mind, and body. Again, it’s not just about fitness.”
Valitchka says it’s targeted towards people who haven’t been able to work out, or have fallen off track with their New Years resolution.
“Their workouts at home have become boring or perhaps there New Years resolution from January 1st is already wearing off. We’ll reset and re-inspire people to get moving and take care of themselves,” Valitchka said.
The challenge begins in February 1st. Participants will receive:
