OCONTO FALLS, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A video is circulating on Facebook of a local teacher giving strong opinions about former President Donald Trump to his elementary students. Now, some parents want him fired.
Oconto Falls School District confirmed Jeffrey Schullo was recorded during a 4th grade virtual learning session.
In the video, you can hear Schullo making opinionated remarks about then President Donald Trump.
“He’s not one of my favorite people right now.”
“He’s done a number of things which are unconscionable.”
“He’s got a, he’s got a funny, power-hungry thing about him.”
“We got a new president as of 1:00 today. I hope you’ll watch on television. I’ll be watching.”
The district says they’re aware of the video, and they’re gathering more information related to the incident. In the meantime though, the district asks people viewing and sharing respect the privacy of the other children.
“The Oconto Falls Public Schools District Administration is aware of the video posted on social media taken during a 4th grade virtual learning session earlier this week. We are reviewing the content of that video and gathering more information relative to this specific situation consistent with District standards and policies. In the meantime, we request that anyone who reviews or has access to the video to please respect the privacy of other students who are also depicted on that video and may prefer not to be shown on social media sites.”
Meanwhile, the video was shared 330 times by mid-afternoon. One user called the post shameful, while another compares education and indoctrination. One man asks why Schullo hasn’t been fired.
But that decision is up to the district, and there’s no word on if and when it will decide what to do.
