GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The City of Green Bay has formally denied any wrongdoing after a federal civil rights lawsuit was filed in the wake of arrests during George Floyd protests.
The city put the curfews into effect from June 1-6 as protests broke out.
The lawsuit alleges that the curfew was unconstitutional because it targeted only protesters, and not others who were out in downtown Green Bay in the evening.
The city requested a jury trial, and set out a proposed calendar which would have the trial start no earlier than January, 2022.
A scheduling conference is planned for Jan. 28.
