MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Students in the Manitowoc Public School District will return to blended learning to begin the second semester of the school year.
In an update sent to families on Wednesday, the district says a combination of in-person and remote learning will begin Jan. 26. The transition was approved at the district’s board of education meeting Tuesday night.
While the district was unable to meet the community COVID-19 burden rate, it has met all other expanded gating criteria.
The district adds that full-distance learning will continue to be offered for families who prefer not to return to in-person instruction.
Parents will receive more information about blended learning in the coming days.
The decision comes almost a month after the district’s board of education approved a partial return to in-person learning.
Parents had also been vocal about an in-person return, having called on the district to make the change through an organized protest.
