The fifth season of the Dirt Kings Late Model Tour is sure to provide lots of action as the 2020 Championship battle featured seven drivers competing for the title. Nick Anvelink is a 3-time DiscountShopTowels.com oDirt Kings Late Model Tour Champion and Justin Ritchie was crowned the 2020 Champion. Anvelink leads all drivers with 13 victories entering the 2021 season, while Mitch McGrath has 7 victories. Taylor Scheffler and Jake Timm both have two victories and 15 other drivers have one victory each. Brett Swedberg and Ron Berna have competed in all 39 races of the DiscountShopTowels.com oDirt Kings Late Model Tour and are still seeking their first win and lead the way with the most second place finishes, six and four, respectively.
The much anticipated fifth season of the DiscountShopTowels.com o Late Model Tour will begin at Shawano Speedway, the legendary half-mile oval on Saturday, April 17 for the Spring Thaw.
The crown jewel of the 2021 Kings of Clay Tour, The Diamond 43, highlights the month of May at Wilmot Raceway on Sunday, May 16. The 43-lap race pays $4300 to the King and $430 to start. Jared Siefert, Ritchie, and Jesse Glenz have been crowned Kings of The Diamond the past three seasons, the event honoring Diamond Jim Letizia. The Diamond 43 is sponsored by Diamond Jim’s Steakhouse.
Gravity Park Speedway in Chilton hosts the Battle to be King, presented by DiscountShopTowels.com on Sunday, May 23. At the inaugural event last season, Kyle Raddant was crowned King in the 30-lap battle to the finish, scoring his first Dirt Kings Tour win.
Outagamie Speedway in Seymour, hosts three events this season, kicking off Memorial Day weekend with the Salute to Service 30 on Friday, May 28. Anvelink won the event in 2018 and has been crowned King two different times at Outagamie Speedway.
Eagle Valley Speedway in Jim Falls, WI will host the Flag Day weekend Stars & Stripes 30 on Friday, June 11. Jake Redetzke and Cade Dillard have been crowned King in previous Dirt Kings Tour events at the third mile oval.
The Tour returns to Shawano Speedway for a second event on on Saturday, June 26 for the Gehm’s Club 117 Kings Classic. Anvelink and AJ Diemel are past winners of the Gehm’s Club 117 Kings Classic. Outagamie Speedway hosts the Mid-Summer Showdown on Friday, July 2 to kick off the Independence Day weekend. Anvelink, McGrath and Mike Mullen have been crowned King in Mueller’s Sales & Service Victory Lane at Outagamie Speedway in the past.
Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, hosts the first of two events for the 2021 season on Friday, July 9 with the Firecracker 40, presented by Arcadia Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram. The 40-lap race pays $3000 to win. Last year, John Kaanta and Dustin Sorensen scored their first Dirt Kings Tour wins and were crowned King of the Firecracker 40.
The Dirt Kings Tour returns to historic Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie for the Summer Sizzler on Sunday, July 11. The first time the Tour visited Angell Park in 2017, Cole Spacek was crowned King and scored his first win.
On Tuesday, August 3, the DiscountShopTowels.com Dirt Kings Tour drivers will compete with the World of Outlaws Late Model Tour at Outagamie Speedway, for the second annual event. Last season, fans filled the grandstands and cheered for Anvelink and Swedberg, who finished third and sixth, respectively, competing against the best drivers in the country.
The Tour returns to Mississippi Thunder Speedway for a second time on Friday, August 20 for the Rumble by the River 40, presented by Hurco & Stone Machinery. The King will take home $5000 in this 40-lap race. Timm has two prior Dirt Kings Tour victories in the Rumble by the River and looks to repeat at his home track.
Plymouth Dirt Track Racing in Plymouth hosts the Mueller’s Sales & Service 30 on Friday, August 27. Jimmy Mars, McGrath and Glenz have been crowned King at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds in the past, but defending and three-time Plymouth Dirt Track Champion Justin Schmidt and Saturday night regulars Turk Letizia and Tim Buhler are looking for their first DiscountShopTowels.com Dirt Kings Late Model Tour win.
The Dirt Kings Tour travels to TNT Speedway for the $2500-to-win Labor Day Shootout on Sunday, September 5, in Three Lakes, WI. Anvelink was crowned King when the Tour last visited TNT Speedway during the 2019 season.
Wilmot Raceway hosts the 4th Annual Jim “Wildman” Watson Classic on Saturday, September 11. McGrath, Avenlink and Scheffler are past Kings of the “Wildman” and Brad Mueller scored his first Dirt Kings Tour victory at Wilmot Raceway in 2017.
The DiscountShopTowels.com Dirt Kings Late Model Tour finishes the 2021 season on Saturday, September 18 for the Crowning of the King at Outagamie Speedway. Anvelink, McGrath and Scheffler have been victorious in the Crowning of the King in the past.
