LITTLE CHUTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Little Chute Public Library celebrated its first day as an independent library Monday.
The library also marked some changes with this milestone.
Starting this year, it became fine-free for patrons.
There will be some remodeling done.
The library is also re-organizing its books by genre, more like a bookstore.
Before this, the library was run in conjunction with Kimberly’s library, but separated because it was easier on the budget.
“It all used to run through the Village of Kimberly, and all the budget got split between that, and it’s just easier with the communities growing if it is fiscally separate, so now our library is run under the Village of Little Chute,” Little Chute Public Library Director Katherine Freund said.
The library is offering curbside services until further notice.
It also has new Facebook and Twitter accounts.
