ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — People on the ice over at Titletown shared just how they felt about 2020, and what they’re looking forward to in 2021.
Dec. 31 is some people’s new favorite holiday after a year like 2020.
When asked what her high of 2020 was, Amanda Tallman of Kenosha said, “I think today having it be over.”
Matthew Tallman said, “Yeah probably that, or any Sunday that the Packers have won.”
Looking back, it’s been a year of challenges for some, like Brittney Ehlers. She was one of the country’s nearly 20 million cases of COVID-19.
“I was in bed for a couple weeks. It took awhile to get rid of all the symptoms,” said Ehlers.
Because of the virus, it’s been a year of virtual learning for students like Isaac Martens.
“You don’t get to see any of your friends or go out and do anything, so I guess that was kind of hard, not being social,” said Martens.
Makaya Woldford can relate. She started her freshman year of high school in the fall.
“It’s been challenging because [of] being online and everything, especially being at a new school,” said Woldford.
Plenty of people also spent their time at home this year, not only living, but working.
“It sounds fun at first, but when you live and work in the same space, after a while it gets difficult,” said Amanda Tallman.
But, for many it also brought some new beginnings they’re thankful for.
Brady Lenius said, “I moved to Green Bay from Madison and got a new apartment and a new job.”
“We welcomed someone into our family because we had someone get married,” said Ella Alonzo.
Looking ahead, many have some similar things they’re looking forward to in 2021.
Ehlers said, “Getting the [coronavirus] vaccine distributed and hopefully have life return back to normal.”
“Most looking forward to things getting back to normal,” said Woldford.
Amy Fredric of Green Bay said, “We’re ready because we’re ready to be done with 2020.”
