TWO RIVERS, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Firefighters put on a holiday display for the community.
Saturday night was Christmas on the Beach.
Residents lined up in vehicles and drove along Neshotah Beach, through a lighted Christmas display, featuring Santa Claus.
Travis Gunderson, with the Two Rivers Fire Department, tells FOX 11 they wanted to make sure that even with COVID-19, residents could still enjoy holiday cheer.
“We wanted to do something extra-special for the community this year, because nothing seems to be normal, so we wanted to reach out to the children and everybody in our community, and put on a little light show for them, have Santa here for them to see.”
The fire department has traditionally put on a Breakfast with Santa event at the fire house, but couldn’t this year, because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
