NEENAH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Neenah Police Chief Aaron Olson will soon be pulling double duty.
He recently re-enlisted in the Army Reserve.
Olson previously served 13 years in the Army Reserve before taking a 10-year break.
Staff Sergeant Olson has been assigned as an instructor with the 86th Training headquarters at Fort McCoy.
But he’s not giving up his day job and will continue to serve as Neenah’s top cop.
“The drills are on weekends. I’m off on weekends. And then two to three weeks a year, I just take vacation, which I already take vacation to do whatever I’m gonna do. So it shouldn’t my job here. It should not affect the citizens of Neenah at all,” Olson said.
Olson says he’s been out of the military for 10 years, which he has always regretted.
He’s looking forward to re-learning military tactics and lingo.
