HOWARD, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – St. Vincent de Paul is opening a new store.
The new shop will be the organization’s fourth in the Green Bay area.
It’s located on Velp Avenue in Howard.
The organization’s first thrift store in the area was opened in 1957.
St. Vincent De Paul Green Bay stores were closed back in March as part of the Stay at Home order.
That led to a revenue loss, but an increase in donations. Many generous donors turned to the organization as the state reopened, both to donate and to shop.
St. Vincent De Paul says the new location will hopefully help people during this difficult time.
Howard Village President Burt McIntyre did the ribbon cutting honors…
“It’s a resource that a lot of the people, a lot of the citizens of our community, really need, and I think they really appreciate it. So, on behalf on the City of Howard, the board, and staff, I’d like to welcome you, and I hope you have nothing but big success.”
Additional revenue from the store means more funding for workshops and vouchers systems.
