MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Wisconsin reported 2,534 new cases of coronavirus on Monday as testing levels remained low coming out of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
The state Department of Health Services’ dashboard showed the new cases making up 29% of the 8,740 tests completed, the fewest tests since Oct. 5. There were also six new deaths reported.
The seven-day average of new cases fell to 4,209, its lowest level since Oct. 29. The seven-day average of test positivity stood at 28.7% after dipping as low as 27.4% on Friday. The seven-day average of new deaths held steady at 43.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 387,235 confirmed cases, more than 2.1 million negative tests and 3,313 deaths. DHS considers 315,086 people to have recovered from COVID-19, the illness caused by the new coronavirus.
As of Monday, the state reported six patients at the alternate care facility at State Fair Park.
