MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Black Friday brought with it the lowest number of new positive coronavirus cases since Sept. 21in Wisconsin.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported 1,300 new cases Friday or 13.2% of the 9,798 total tests completed.
That’s a significant decrease from Thursday’s 5,095 new confirmed cases and 37.1% positivity rate.
Friday also saw an additional 17 deaths.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 375, 837 total confirmed cases, more than 2.1 million negative tests and 3,257deaths. DHS considers 301,541 people to have recovered from COVID-19, the illness caused by the new coronavirus.
