Reports are warning people to social distance and have fewer people at Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers this year, which will impact the cheese market. Normally, this time of year we see the market price go up. For now, the cheese demand’s been strong because of the Farm to Families Food Box program, but that ends December 31st.
With similar programs also ending, the holiday demand not there, and restaurants still on the mend, it’s not looking good for the dairy market. Naomi Bloom is with Total Farm Marketing, she said that we need to be able to get together and reopen restaurants in order to keep the cheese market up.
