GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The man who allegedly killed his companion at an Ashwaubenon hotel pleaded not guilty Monday.
No trial was set for Dennis Sutrick. He returns to court Jan. 11 for the Aug. 28 incident. The victim’s name has not been released.
According to the criminal complaint, Sutrick called for help after he said he found the victim unresponsive in the bathtub.
The victim had bruising on her face, and police found blood and chunks of hair in the hotel room. When asked to explain the injuries, Sutrick gave several explanations. He said she may been injured while the two had sex, or when she fell the day before, and also had issues with her medication. He denied intentionally harming her.
According to the medical examiner, the cause of death “was blunt force injury to the head and neck with evidence of manual strangulation and subdural hematoma. She further opined this was nonaccidental trauma and the manner of death was a homicide,” the complaint states.
If convicted, Sutrick faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison.
