WINNEBAGO COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A medical issue for a driver led to a fire that closed part of Interstate 41 Wednesday morning.
The state Department of Transportation reported the fire just before 10 a.m. near Highway GG, south of Neenah. Northbound traffic was blocked, and the interstate did not reopen fully for more than an hour.
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office says the driver of a car suffered a medical issue. The car went into a ditch and started grasses on fire.
The driver was taken to the hospital.
The interstate fully reopened around 11:15 a.m.
