FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Some area culinary students gave back to poll workers on Election Day.
The culinary department at Moraine Park Technical College delivered meals to poll workers who are working more than 14 hours Tuesday.
More than 160 meals were delivered to poll workers throughout Fond du Lac.
“It’s a great experience for everybody involved, as I said, it’s something that Moraine Park looks at very seriously is the service learning where we can help the community while the students are learning and that’s exactly what we’re doing here today,” said culinary arts instructor, James Simmers.
Student Courtland Henning tells FOX 11 he’s just glad to make someone in the community’s day.
“I’ve always been into community support and it’s just nice to support those people who are just doing a great job at what they’re doing and taking time out of their busy lives to help garner a better future.”
