APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – With eight days until Election Day, a group in Appleton gathered Saturday afternoon to remind people how important it is to vote.
The League of Women Voters Appleton organized a “Pack the Polls Parade.”
Decorated vehicles started and ended at Appleton East High School, weaving their way down city roads in between.
The event had one strict rule: stay nonpartisan.
“We specifically asked people to make signs on their cars and so forth not for who they’re voting for, but reasons why it is important to vote,” said Linda Bjella, the Vice President for Advocacy for the League of Women Voters Appleton.
Other nonpartisan events, just urging people to vote, took place across the state.
