GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The coronavirus pandemic didn’t stop the Green Bay Packers Foundation from awarding $1 million in annual grants for the second consecutive year.
The foundation announced this week they’ve distributed grants to 237 civic and charitable organizations throughout Wisconsin.
Due to the pandemic, recipients won’t receive the grants at a December luncheon as in the past. Instead, the grants were distributed earlier to assist organizations impacted by the pandemic.
In a news release, Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy says…
“We’re proud to award $1 million through our annual Packers Foundation grants this year, a year in which many nonprofits are seeing a greater need in their communities due to the pandemic. So many people from the recipient organizations are on the front lines, and we are inspired by them and honored to help as they continue to serve those in need every day.”

This year’s grants were given to organizations that will direct the funds toward the areas of elderly, homelessness, human services and hunger, the release says.
Of the 237 organizations chosen, 26 reside in Brown County, with those organizations receiving a combined $114,000.
The annual grants coincide with the “Packers Give Back” initiative, which seeks to assist those impacted by the pandemic and address social justice concerns.
The efforts have resulted in $4 million awarded to nonprofit organizations so far this year.
