GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Following alerts made throughout the evening, UW-Green Bay released more details about a man seen with a gun on campus Tuesday.
The university says police received a call about the man, who was on an arboretum trail in a wooded area near E. Circle Drive.
The man is said to have confronted two individuals who were walking a dog within the arboretum, which is prohibited.
During the confrontation, the man pulled out the gun, but did not point it at the individuals or threaten them.
According to the university, the gun was pulled out after the dog growled, and the move was possibly a defensive reaction.
The university asks that anyone who has seen or knows the man to contact campus police at (920) 465-2300 ext. 2.
He is described as white and in his 50’s, with slightly longer hair and average size.
He was also seen wearing a grey sweater and jeans.
