FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Cara Zech was convicted Tuesday for her role in a drug overdose death.
She pleaded no contest to a count of first-degree reckless homicide in connection with the 2018 death of Steven Compton. No sentencing date was set, according to a court official.
Julie Harr returns to court Nov. 2 for a scheduling conference, while Anthony Buehler has a hearing Dec. 18. They also both face reckless homicide charges.
According to court documents, police were called to 532 8th Street on July 28, 2018 for an overdose.
Compton was pronounced dead at the scene. Medical examiners said Compton died of “acute mixed drug (heroin, fentanyl) intoxication.”
Investigators say Harr connected Compton with Buechel to buy heroin. Harr and Buechel allegedly took Compton’s money to get heroin from Zech. Buechel told investigators he went with Zech multiple times to Milwaukee to buy drugs.
