SUAMICO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The NEW Zoo in Suamico is taking extra measures to make sure its annual Zoo Boo is safe this year.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Zoo Boo will have a few changes.
The event is spread out over four weekends in October from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.: October 9th, 10th, 16th, 17th, 23rd, 24th, 30th, and 31st.
To ensure social distancing, capacity will be limited each night and guests must purchase tickets in advance for the following two time slots: 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Costumes are encouraged and every guest over the age of one can receive a bag of candy on arrival.
The Zoo Boo will include festive, family-friendly Halloween decorations, carousel rides and the Happy Haunted Maze in the Children’s Zoo. The Dog House will also be on-site selling their full menu, including their famous, fresh battered cheese curds. Families can participate in the Zoo Scavenger Hunt and the first 500 families to finish during each time slot can pick up a prize.
You can buy tickets at North Shore Bank locations throughout the area from now through Saturday, Sept. 19. Afterwards, tickets are available online starting Friday, Sept. 25. Tickets will be available at the gate on the day of only if they have not sold out in advance or online.
Tickets are $12 per person and free for kids under 3 years old. Everyone aged 3 and above must have a ticket or bar code to enter the zoo.
The NEW Zoo will close at 2 p.m. on Zoo Boo dates so staff can prepare.
