BROWN COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The 2020 National Preparedness Month theme is “Disasters Don’t Wait. Make your plan today.”
Brown County is taking that motto to heart as it recognizes the month.
Executive Troy Streckenbach held an event Thursday to encourage Wisconsin residents to make a disaster plan.
He also asked families and businesses update their own plans based on recommendations due to COVID-19.
“Being prepared saves lives and saves resources, and so, with that, as we’re coming into the winter season, we want to remind and continuously encourage members of the community to take the same amount of time it takes and prepare.”
The first week of September is all about creating a disaster plan.
Next week, events will be held to discuss building disaster kits.
