GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – An Ashwaubenon shooting suspect was taken into custody in Green Bay Monday morning.
Green Bay Police Lieutenant Chad Ramos reports that city officers were assisting Ashwaubenon and pulled over the suspect’s vehicle on the city’s east side.
“You have a feeling he’s going to run or the vehicle’s going to elude you. This is a serious charge – this person shot another person. So we knew it, and as soon as that vehicle stopped, he took off,” Ramos tells reporters.
The suspect fled into nearby woods, and was later captured after hiding in a garage.
“We were able to search a garage and found the suspect hiding inside there. He was taken into custody without incident,” Ramos says, “Now he’s at the Brown County Jail on the Ashwaubenon charges, whatever they have in connection to that shooting.”
The large police presence blocked the area of Main Street between Lime Kiln Road and Oakdale Avenue for several hours – as officers and SWAT teams from several local departments flooded the area.
Details of the shooting incident were not immediately available.
