APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – Appleton Police say no one was hurt when a man fired a gun several times at someone who was checking on an abandoned motorcycle.
It happened at about 2:45 Saturday morning in the 400 block of North Linwood Avenue.
A driver stopped to check on a motorcycle that was on its side in the road. Shots were fired at the driver as he was trying to leave the area after he was unable to locate the motorcycle’s owner.
Responding officers noticed the motorcycle that had been in the road was moved into some bushes, in an attempt to hide it.
Police eventually found the suspect, who admitted to firing his gun. Casings were also found in the area.
Investigators don’t believe the suspect knew the victim.
A parked car in the area was also damaged by the gunfire.
Investigators are trying to determine a motive and trying to ascertain if there is any other property damaged by the gunfire.
