GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Brown County officials say if you’re looking to apply or renew your passport, you need to pack your patience.
While the Brown County Clerk’s Office is taking applications for passports, it says it cannot expedite the process at this time.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has created a 1.23 million backlog of passports waiting to be adjudicated across the country.
Officials suggest if you need to apply for or renew a passport, to do so immediately as it may take months to get them adjudicated and returned.
To apply for or renew a passport with the Brown County Clerk’s Office, please call (920) 448-4016 to schedule an appointment between 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays.
Appointments are necessary to maintain proper social distancing for COVID-19.
