MANITOWOC COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Two people were arrested on multiple accounts Friday after a traffic stop led to a pursuit in Manitowoc County.
The pursuit began shortly after 4:30 p.m. when the passenger, 27-year-old Timothy Belongie Jr. of Two Rivers, fled the vehicle and began running toward Knollwood Cemetery near State Highway 310.
The deputy who conducted the traffic stop proceeded back to his vehicle to get ahead of the suspect, who then reentered the stopped vehicle.
Once back inside, the driver, 32-year-old Ashley Monroy of North Charleston, S.C., drove off and reached speeds of over 100 mph, according to the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office.
Monroy eventually lost control of the vehicle, and both suspects began fleeing on foot. They were apprehended shortly after fleeing, according to the sheriff’s office.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of over 45 grams of crystal meth and drug paraphernalia.
No one was injured during the incident.
