GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Green Bay committee will consider a proposal to require face masks to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
The agenda for Monday’s Protection and Policy Committee includes a request by Ald. Randy Scannell to craft an ordinance requiring employees and the public in social situations to wear masks and practice social distancing.
Any ordinance would ultimately have to be approved by the full city council.
Last week, Brown County health officials urged people to wear masks. So far, 43 deaths in Brown County have been linked to COVID-19, the illness caused by the new coronavirus.
Monday’s meeting is set for 5:30. It will be held via video conference.
