GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — We are in the midst of a hotter-than-usual July.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Scott Cultice says we’re seeing temperatures around 10 degrees above normal, with high humidity and little wind, and that is going to continue.
“We haven’t issued any heat advisories, but it has been very sticky out there,” Cultice told WTAQ on Tuesday. “When everything is said and done, we are going to be averaging well above normal [this month].”
We’re going to get some relief though, starting this weekend.
“We have a few more days around 90 degrees,” said Cultice. “But starting on Friday and for the upcoming weekend temperatures will still be above normal, but in the low-to-mid 80s.”
Temperatures are expected to rise again next week after the cooler temps this weekend.
Dewpoints in the high 60s and low 70s have contributed to heat indices in the mid-90s and a hard-to-shake mugginess that has made things generally uncomfortable in Northeast Wisconsin over the past several weeks.
