GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Green Bay Packers are hiring as if it is any other season.
“Other than wearing masks, everything is pretty normal for us as we’re preparing,” said Human Resources Manager Chris Cohorst.
Cohorst tells FOX 11 the team is trying to fill about 440 game day positions for guest services and security alone.
“To find a lot of people in a short amount of time is a significant amount of work. I’d rather put in the work up front and make sure we’re prepared.”
There are still no official announcements on what Lambeau Field will look like in the fall.
Keith Cronin, manager of guest services, tells FOX 11… “there are still many questions and not as many answers so we have to plan ahead.”
Packers staff says the pandemic isn’t keeping applicants away.
“I think people are ready for a little bit of normalcy,” said Cohorst.
As for potential employee, Aaron Gewont, “it’s a good way to get out of the house and get yourself out there and sounds like a fun position to apply for”
COVID-19 cost Aaron Gewont his job.
He tells FOX 11 the Packers are a good opportunity to get back on his feet.
“I’ve always wanted to get my foot in the door with Lambeau. I heard about the job fair and I live right down the road so I figured why not, give it a shot.”
The team says all workers will follow health safety guidelines to keep employees and fans safe during game days.
And whether Lambeau’s stands are packed or not, Cohorst said, “we’ll still likely need a large amount of employees.”
Interviews were conducted on-site and six feet apart. Anyone participating had to also wear a mask.
Anyone interested in applying, but could not make it to the job fair, can go to the Packers website to fill an application.
