MILWAUKEE, WI (WTAQ) — The Democratic National Committee is moving their convention amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fiserv Forum will no longer serve as the venue for the Democrats presidential nominating convention. Instead, the Wisconsin Center will serve as the host venue, with most of the event taking place virtually. That includes the official vote to nominate the party’s presidential candidate. Delegates are being asked not to travel to Milwaukee.
Former Vice President Joe Biden plans to accept the nomination in person.
Party Chairman Tom Perez said the move is in the interest of public health.
