(WTAQ-WLUK) — Local scouts are making a difference in their communities.

It’s for the annual Scouting for Food Drive.

During the weekend of Oct. 9-11, local scouts with Scouting America, Bay-Lakes Council distributed collection bags in neighborhoods.

Residents are asked to fill those bags with donated non-perishable food items and leave them on their porch by 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17.

Scouts will come around to pick up the donations.

If you didn’t receive a bag or if you bag gets missed during Saturday’s collection, you can drop it off at a local food pantry or any Festival Foods location before Tuesday, Oct. 20.
