GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Green Bay Police Department is searching for a man with a known violent history after he fled from a traffic stop on the city’s east side.
According to the department, 20-year-old Jayveionn Williams of Ashwaubenon is wanted on several warrants, including child abuse causing great bodily harm.
Officers located a vehicle driven by Williams at approximately 2:15 p.m. Sunday.
When a traffic stop was attempted, Williams fled, leading to a brief pursuit before the vehicle struck a curb and was unable to move near University Avenue and Henry Street.
Williams then fled the scene on foot.
A temporary shelter-in-place order was issued by Brown County Emergency Management in the area.
However, the order was lifted around 4 p.m., with Wililams’ whereabouts still unknown.
Green Bay Police says Williams is a black male who is roughly 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing 190 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes.
He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black sweatpants and no shoes.
GBPD is urging the public not to approach Williams as he is considered dangerous.
