$5,000 gift honors late angler, funds Fox River shoreline improvements in Green Bay area

DE PERE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) –Anglers along the Fox River in the Green Bay area can expect improvements to the shoreline at the Brown County Fairgrounds, backed by a $5,000 donation made in memory of a local fisherman.

Scott Yindra presented the $5,000 check to the Brown County Parks Department this afternoon. The gift honors Preston Yindra, who died unexpectedly last December.

The family said Preston Yindra was an avid fisherman and that shoreline improvements at the fairgrounds would be what he would have wanted.

Preston was all about fishing, and the outdoors, and with something like this being able to get people out fishing on Preston’s Point, and enjoying the outdoors, there’s almost not a better way to honor his name,” Scott Yindra said.

The new spawning grounds will be called Preston’s Point and will be developed by the Bay of Green Bay Chapter of Walleyes for Tomorrow.
