(WNFL) – Michael Harris II doubled home Drake Baldwin in the first inning and that’s the only scoring the Atlanta Braves would do against Logan Henderson and 3 relievers in the Milwaukee Brewers’ 4-1 win at American Family Field in Milwaukee on Saturday.
Henderson went 6 innings to get the win, allowing that 1 run on 5 hits and 2 walks while striking out 4. With the win, Henderson improved to 8-2.
Chad Patrick, DL Hall and Aaron Ashby each followed with a scoreless inning of relief.
Offensively, the Brewers scored 3 times in the third inning.
The first run came when William Contreras singled home Cooper Pratt. Then 2 runs scored when Jake Bauers on the 12th pitch of his at-bat against Martin Perez drilled a 2-run home run.
In the fourth inning, Pratt hit a sacrifice fly to score Joey Ortiz.
With the win and the Chicago Cubs’ loss to Seattle, Milwaukee now leads the National Central Division by 7 games over the second-place Cubs.
The Brewers also have a National League best record of 81-49. The Dodgers are next at 79-51 with Atlanta third at 75-55
The Brewers and Braves wrap up the series tonight in the Little League Classic at Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Shane Drohan who is 6-4 with a 3.86 ERA will start for Milwaukee.
Atlanta will send Tyler Mahle to the mound. He is 4-10 with a 4.53 ERA.
