NEENAH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An annual school supplies drive is carrying more significance this year to help those impacted by Monday’s tornado in the Fox Cities.
Mobile Health Team and the Menasha Joint School District are collecting donations for the Back to School Bash from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays between July 29 and Aug. 6 at the Mobile Health Team Office at 116 E. Bell St. in Neenah. It will benefit families of the Menasha district.
The drive is accepting new and gently used children and adult clothing:
- Shirts
- Sweatshirts
- Pants
- Shorts
- Shoes and cleats
- Personal hygiene products
- Backpacks
- Gift Cards (Amazon, Target, Walmart, etc.)
The donation drive will not be accepting:
- Baby or toddler sizes
- Swimsuits
- Clothing with stains, rips or tears
- Used undergarments
- Used socks
People in need of these items will be able to attend the back-to-school fair on Aug. 11. It is normally held at Maplewood Middle School, but it isn’t known if it will be available. The school district will communicate a location as soon as it knows.
Organizers say due to the storm, staff members will also be eligible to pick up items they need.
